Neodymium Block - Partial Ovoid - 38mm x 29mm x (3-5.8mm) Phos

Product Code 22006C
Weight 10 gm
Style Neodymium Block-Ovoid
Coating Phosphorous
Direction of Magnetisation Axially magnetised
Dimensions Width:29mm, Height:3 to 5.8mm, Length:38mm

Magnetic Product Description:

This unusual partial ovoid block magnet has a length of 38mm times a width of 29mm times an ovoid thickness between 3 to 5.8mm. It has the AMF magnet part number 22006C.

Uses for our rare earth block magnets:

Magnets like these Neodymium blocks were used in Pre-digital film projectors to regulate the movement of metallic parts. The speed at which individual frames containing the images pass over the projector’s light beam is critical to recreating realistic movement. Moving images that move too fast or too slow disorients the viewer, interrupting the suspension of belief and emotional investment the filmmakers are asking audiences to make. Rare Earth block magnets inside the projection equipment influence nearby metallic components that move, but the range of movements are modified by the magnet’s size, shape and strength and help project smooth images. These old types of movie projectors are still used to this day and we believe there are several hundred in operation worldwide.

We presently have these unusual magnets in stock but will not be replacing this item once the stock has been sold.
