This ferrite block magnet has a 75mm length, an 18mm width and a height of 6.5mm. This ferrite magnet is painted red on the North side and blue on the South side. It is magnetised lengthwise and is identified by the AMF magnet part number 12031.
Uses for our ferrite block magnets:
Markings of Blue and Red paint on this Ferrite Block magnet identify the North and South poles respectively and make them a useful educational tool for those studying the flow and nature of magnetic fields. Iron filings are often used to depict the direction of magnetic fields and the effects of magnetism in the natural world. The markings also help to identify the poles of other unmarked magnets by noting the attractive or repelling force as the magnetic fields interact.
