Magnetic Product Description:

This neodymium magnetic block has a length of 38.1mm, width of 25.4mm and a height of 19.05mm. It has a pull force of 48.44 kilos. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number B-W25.4H19.05L38.1-N52.

Uses for our rare earth block magnets:

Neodymium block magnets are many times stronger than traditional ceramic style magnets of similar mass. The applications for rare earth rectangular magnets across a range of industries, and society in general, are endless and new applications are constantly being discovered by designers, engineers and scientific researchers.

The strength and reliability of these magnets means they are an asset in the home, office or warehouse. Simple and convenient uses can be found just about anywhere a bond with steel or suspension of metallic items is required.
Signage and advertising companies were an early adopter of small strong Neodymium bar magnets which are commonplace in retail signage that needs a robust hold that can also be removed or changed with ease. There is a clear benefit in using magnets over other more permanent forms of attachment as they do not damage the metal substrate to which the signage is attached. Magnetic bond is appealing for its quick, easy operation and the non-invasive nature in which it bonds with ferrous metal surfaces or corresponding magnets.

This neo block has rather complex measurements when viewed as metric dimensions however when considered in Imperial terms they make a lot more sense. With a length of 1.5 inches, a height of 1 inch and the width of ¾ of an inch, these blocks are ideal for use within US or UK designed products or systems.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
