Magnetic Product Description:

This neodymium magnetic block has a length of 50mm, width of 10mm and a height of 10mm. It has a pull force of 14.4 kilos. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number B-W10H10L50-N35.

Uses for our rare earth block magnets:

Neodymium Bar magnets are well suited to applications where ferrous metal contaminants need to be separated or removed from non-ferrous material. This separation is often achieved by passing the bar magnet over material to attract and remove ferrous contaminants. However these are generally not stand alone magnets but rather block magnets that have been enclosed into a device such as a swarf cleaner to provide an efficient means of use.

Magnets themselves are quite a brittle material and enclosing them within a device or a metal housing allows them to withstand regular use. Block magnets are often used in combination to create a long field of magnetism, an example of this type of arrangement is a knife holder or tool holder. The rod magnets are placed end to end to create a magnetic surface which is much longer than an individual magnet could be made. Some types of magnetic equipment have a self-cleaning function so the metal can be disposed of in a safe, hands-free manner. This is achieved by having a mechanical means of distancing the magnet away from the active surface of the metal housing to release the metal debris that has been magnetically attracted.
