Neodymium Disc Magnet – 5mm x 1mm | N50
Product Code D-D5H1-N50
Pull Force* 0.359 kg
Weight 3 gm
Style Rare Earth Disc magnet
Coating Nickel (NiCuNi)
Direction of Magnetisation Through height
Dimensions Height:1mm, Diameter:5mm
*Measured against up to 10mm mild steel.

Magnetic Product Description:

N50 Grade Neodymium is the second strongest magnetic material available and makes this thin disc magnet extremely strong for its size. The diameter is 5mm and the height is only 1mm. Pull force is approximately 0.359 kg and surface gauss measures 2617.74G

Uses for our strong rare earth disc magnets:

AMF has an extensive range of Neodymium disc magnets to choose from, ensuring the size and strength of magnet you need is available. From home handicrafts to games, scale modelling or complex industrial applications, small Neodymium disc magnets are highly regarded for their strength, easily accommodated low profile and their simplicity of operation while also being totally reliable.

These nickel-coated disc magnets are sturdy and rust-resistant but not indestructible, so precautions need to be taken where impact with hard objects is likely to occur. Placed inside fabric, canvas or cloth, the magnets are protected and make ideal closure and attachment devices for protective covers, animal blankets or even unique and stylish fashion items. Magnetism is permanent and under normal conditions does not require renewal or replacement over time, which makes magnetic attachment a very cost-effective, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly form of technology while at the same time adding a unique and futuristic quality to the products that feature it in their design.

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
