Neodymium Holding Pot magnets have a mild steel casing or cap on one side that deflects the flow of magnetism back to the base and increases its overall strength and holding ability. The capping also provides protection for the magnet against chipping or cracking.
The Round Hole version of this Pot magnet is designed to accommodate a threaded bolt and nut to secure them in position. Unlike screws, this nut and bolt method of attachment is unlikely to be weakened by bumping, vibration or repeated use and is particularly helpful when attaching to plastic surfaces or thin timber framing.
